Maintenance Technician
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Manteca, CA. This role supports the Machine Maintenance Technician in ensuring our equipment is properly maintained and functioning efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent downtime.
- Support machine setup and adjustments as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
- Follow safety protocols and report any equipment malfunctions.
- Work closely with the maintenance team and production staff.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience working with machinery preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Must speak proficient English (bi-lingual Spanish preferred).
This position is in a manufacturing setting with exposure to loud machinery, moving equipment, and varying temperatures. The work environment requires adherence to safety protocols. The position involves working near mechanical equipment, handling tools, and occasionally working in confined spaces or elevated areas.
Physical Demands:The role requires the ability to handle various physical demands, including:
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent walking, bending, standing, kneeling.
- Must be able to handle the use of hand and power tools and have the physical dexterity to handle small parts.
- Must be able to work in elevated, confined, or hard-to-reach areas during repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including heat, cold, and humidity.
- Strict adherence to company safety protocols, including the use of proper lifting techniques and following safety procedures when operating tools, machinery, and handling equipment.
This position is non-exempt and complies with California's wage and hour laws. Compensation for this role ranges from $21 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
