Position: Machine Operator (Food)

Food Machine Operator - Manteno, IL

Our client, a leading food manufacturing organization, is seeking a Machine Operator (Food) to join their team. As a Machine Operator (Food), you will be part of the production department supporting high-volume food processing and packaging operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Machine Operator (Food)

Location: Manteno, IL

Pay Range: $18-$22.75 per/hr

Shift: 1st, 2nd, 3rd

What's the Job?

  • Operate specialized food manufacturing equipment including VEMAG extruders, crimper machines, JDD baggers, inline pressing systems, and industrial ovens to support high-volume production.
  • Manage and troubleshoot packaging machinery such as Texwrap Systems, ADCO automated packaging machines, Combi case erectors, and coding & label applicator machines to ensure efficiency and product quality.
  • Conduct quality control checks, verify seal integrity, and ensure product codes and labels are accurate and compliant with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output volumes, machine settings, and batch information for traceability and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to optimize line performance, address issues promptly, and uphold safety and food safety standards.

What's Needed?

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical equipment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical devices, troubleshooting skills, and routine maintenance capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Completion of GMPs and food safety training programs.
  • Good mathematical skills and ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
