Role Overview: Located in Manteno, IL, this Contract-to-Hire position operates on the 3rd shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Compensation ranges from $20 to $24 per hour, complemented by a benefits package including PTO, paid holidays, BCBS medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and ESOP.

Your Impact: As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will safeguard our food safety and quality standards by inspecting ingredients, packaging, and production lines. You will spend the vast majority of your time on the floor conducting tests, documenting findings, and collaborating with various departments to address any quality issues.

Core Competencies:

  • Understanding of food safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Proven background in executing product evaluations and inspections.
  • High level of precision and clear communication abilities.
  • Capacity to function effectively both autonomously and within a collaborative group.
  • Proficiency in operating essential testing tools like scales, calipers, rulers, and metal detection equipment to ensure product integrity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execute standard safety and quality evaluations on production lines to maintain compliance.
  • Verify that weights, measurements, labels, and expiration codes meet our strict quality benchmarks.
  • Analyze raw materials and finished goods to confirm they meet internal standards.
  • Perform necessary allergen and gluten screenings to protect consumer health.
  • Verify sanitation effectiveness by conducting thorough pre-operational inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant facility by performing daily GMP audits.
  • Ensure measurement accuracy by regularly calibrating and testing QA instrumentation.
  • Collect and organize product samples to support sensory and shelf-life validation efforts.
  • Report any safety or quality deviations immediately to relevant production teams.
  • Maintain precise shift logs and documentation to ensure full traceability.
  • Assist with evolving QA tasks and training as your technical expertise grows.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Background in bakery, food manufacturing, or quality control environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Proactive mindset with a sharp focus on detail.
  • Commitment to adhering to established food safety and quality guidelines.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-speed manufacturing setting.
  • Eagerness to expand your knowledge of production line processes and QA testing.
