Allied Water Services is a rapidly growing water, wastewater, sewer, and septic services company seeking a motivated Wastewater Systems Technician to join our team.
This position is ideal for someone with 2–3 years of experience in septic, sewer, plumbing, wastewater, pump systems, drainage or a related field who is looking to expand their technical knowledge and build a long-term career.
You will work alongside experienced technicians while developing the skills necessary to diagnose, repair, maintain, and service a wide variety of wastewater systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities Service & Maintenance- Perform preventative maintenance on septic and wastewater systems
- Assist with inspections and system evaluations
- Service pumps, filters, alarms, and control components
- Perform manufacturer‑required maintenance visits
- Document service findings using company software
- Assist with diagnosing septic and sewer system issues
- Replace baffles, filters, risers, cleanouts, and related components
- Assist with pump repairs and replacements
- Support troubleshooting of controls, floats, alarms, and electrical components
- Learn proper diagnostic and repair procedures from senior technicians
- Hydro jet sewer and septic lines
- Assist with excavation‑related repairs
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools
- Provide professional customer service
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
- Participate in an on‑call rotation as experience and training progress
- Assist with emergency service calls and after‑hours customer needs
- 2–3 years of experience in septic, sewer, plumbing, wastewater, pumping, drainage, or related industries
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Experience with pumps, controls, floats, alarms, or electrical troubleshooting
- Experience operating service equipment
- IDPH licenses or certifications
- IOWPA membership or training
- CDL (preferred but not required)
- Hydro jetting experience
- Septic inspection or maintenance experience
