A trusted fleet maintenance provider is hiring a Mobile Diesel Service Technician in the Manteno, IL area to handle field repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance. Duties & Responsibilities Perform mobile diagnostics, troubleshooting, general and DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on fleet and customer equipment.
Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, air, diesel, and related mechanical systems.
Complete welding and fabrication repairs as needed to keep equipment safe and service-ready.
Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle while managing provided inventory and specialty tools.
Complete service calls efficiently while following safety procedures, industry standards, and company protocols.
Document service work, parts used, time spent, inspection results, and daily paperwork accurately.
Requirements
Required:
Hands-on mobile service or diesel shop repair experience with skills that transfer to field service work.
Strong troubleshooting skills across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, air, mechanical, heavy truck, or heavy equipment systems.
Ability to work independently, manage service calls, communicate professionally, and complete daily paperwork.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Able to travel as needed, work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 75 lbs, and perform physical repairs.
High school diploma or equivalent must complete pre-employment criminal background check, drug screening, and fitness for duty physical.
Preferred:2+ years of DOT inspection experience.
2+ years of hydraulic, diesel, heavy equipment, or heavy truck mechanic experience.
Technical certification, CDL, ASE, NATEF, Welding Certification, Fluid Power Society Certification, or TWIC Card.#SJ1 Compensation:$35.00 – $38.00/hour based on experience and certifications
Overtime available and paid after 40 hours/week Company vehicle and specialty tools provided
