Allied Water Services is a rapidly growing water, wastewater, sewer, and septic services company seeking an experienced Senior Wastewater Systems Technician to join our team.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a proven professional who can independently diagnose, repair, maintain, and service septic systems, sewer systems, pump stations, advanced treatment systems, and related wastewater infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated problem solver with a strong technical background, excellent customer communication skills, and a proven history of delivering results in the field. This individual will play a critical role in helping us continue building one of the premier wastewater service organizations in Illinois.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnostics & Repairs
    • Diagnose septic and sewer system failures
    • Troubleshoot pumps, controls, floats, alarms, and electrical components
    • Service grinder pumps, lift stations, sewage pumps, and effluent pumps
    • Troubleshoot advanced treatment systems and aerobic treatment units
    • Perform sewer and wastewater system repairs
    • Recommend and complete long-term corrective solutions
  • Maintenance & Service
    • Perform preventative maintenance and service agreements
    • Conduct manufacturer-required service visits
    • Inspect and maintain treatment systems, pumps, controls, and related components
    • Identify developing issues before they become system failures
    • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Field Operations
    • Hydro jet sewer and septic lines
    • Replace baffles, headers, effluent filters, risers, and cleanouts
    • Perform system inspections and condition assessments
    • Assist with excavation-related repairs when necessary
    • Represent Allied Water Services professionally in the field
  • Emergency Response
    • Participate in an on-call rotation
    • Respond to after-hours emergency service calls when scheduled
    • Provide professional and timely customer support during urgent situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of wastewater, septic, sewer, plumbing, pump, or related service experience
  • Proven track record of independently diagnosing and repairing wastewater systems

    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working directly with customers
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Highly Preferred: IDPH Licensed Private Sewage Disposal Installation Contractor
  • Highly Preferred: IDPH Licensed Private Sewage Disposal Maintenance Provider
  • Highly Preferred: IOWPA membership or certification
  • Highly Preferred:
    Experience with Norweco, Delta Eco Pods, Bio-Microbics, Hydro-Action, and similar systems
  • Highly Preferred:
    Pump controls and electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Highly Preferred:
    Hydro jetting and sewer diagnostics experience
Service Territory & Dispatch

Allied Water Services serves customers throughout a broad service territory. Candidates from Kankakee County and surrounding communities are encouraged to apply, as are candidates from other areas within our service region.

A company vehicle and dispatch-from-home schedule allow technicians to be strategically positioned throughout our territory to improve response times and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate should reside within a reasonable distance of our service area and be capable of responding to scheduled and emergency service calls when required.
