Project Manager
The Project Manager oversees the planning and delivery of construction projects, ensuring that all work is completed on time and within budget. This role manages project logistics, delegates work across teams, and closely tracks spending. The Project Manager collaborates and builds strong relationships with project stakeholders, including owners, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities- Oversee the end-to-end planning and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop accurate bids and estimates for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Lead pre-design and planning activities to establish project scope, timelines, and resource needs.
- Schedule and perform site walkthroughs to assess progress, identify issues, and ensure quality standards.
- Navigate and support the permitting process to keep projects compliant and on track.
- Process and manage change orders, updating project plans, budgets, and timelines as needed.
- Allocate resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects of varying size, stage, and complexity.
- Provide cross-functional team leadership, coordinating efforts among internal teams, owners, architects, and subcontractors.
- Monitor and report on project progress, proactively identifying and managing risks.
- Manage project budgets, track spending, and ensure financial performance aligns with project goals.
- Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and maintain strong working relationships.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive project proposals that clearly outline scope, schedule, and cost.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Strong project management skills with at least 3 years of project management experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in construction, residential and/or commercial, with knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in construction management, including planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
- Demonstrated ability to develop accurate bids and estimates for construction projects.
- Experience processing and managing change orders in a construction environment.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects of various sizes, stages, and complexity.
- Skilled in resource allocation and cross-functional team leadership.
- Strong skills in monitoring and reporting on project progress, including risk management and budget oversight.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with the permitting process for construction projects.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for working with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred, ideally in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience preparing and submitting detailed project proposals.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and maintain composure under deadlines.
This role is primarily based onsite at the office, providing a collaborative environment for coordinating project activities and meeting with stakeholders. The position also involves occasional driving to visit construction sites and conduct walkthroughs, requiring comfort with field-based work and regular site inspections.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Maple Grove, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.00 - $63.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
