Location: Watertown, Minnesota
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Watertown, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs and will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), delivering specialized instruction, and collaborating with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Modify and adapt the general education curriculum to meet the needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Use specialized teaching techniques and tools to enhance student learning and communication.
- Assess students' skills and develop appropriate teaching plans based on their individual needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, and parents to monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed student records in compliance with district policies and state regulations.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education.
- Certification in a specific area of Special Education (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders).
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Masters degree in Special Education or related field.
- Experience working with diverse populations and students with various disabilities.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software for instructional purposes.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding special education.
