About the Position

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities in a K–12 school setting. The ideal candidate will create engaging learning experiences, collaborate with educational professionals, and provide individualized instruction designed to meet each student’s unique needs.

Job Duties
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs, goals, accommodations, and modifications
  • Provide specially designed instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies and differentiated learning approaches
  • Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to support diverse learners
  • Monitor and document student academic, behavioral, and developmental progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Implement positive behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies
  • Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Support students in developing academic, social, communication, and independent living skills
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license through the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB)
  • Appropriate Minnesota Special Education license/endorsement for the assigned student population and disability area
  • Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), IEP development, and special education compliance requirements
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred

Compensation

Compensation for this position ranges from $31.78 to $51.78. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
