Total Rewards:
A typical starting range for this position is $116,000 - $160,000 annually. We offer market competitive base pay and adjust our offer accordingly based upon the value of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience. Responsibilities- Share responsibility for daily fuel purchasing activities, including responding to fuel purchasing requirements outside normal business hours as needed
- Oversee daily energy market activities, strategies, and reporting. Analyze Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) market conditions,GRE generation offers and instruct adjustments as required.
- Collaborate with Alliance for Cooperative Energy Services (ACES) and GRE stakeholders and support power trading andschedulingactivities providingexpertiseon fuel availability, pricing, and generation costs.
- Coordinate with gas supplier forpathof gas volumes for GRE with the least risk.
- Directgas storage inventories forgenerationplants on the pipeline systems.
- Accuratelyandpromptly manage nominations,trading,scheduling,contract compliance, andaccountingactivities.
- Manage balancing,monitoringandpurchasingall fuel oil for peaking plants.
- Oversee that all trading activities are within the risk management policies and procedures tolerance levels.
- Ensure thatgas related decisions minimize pipeline penalties and overall fuel cost to GRE.
- Responsible forensuringcontracts are properly coordinating day-to-day natural gas and fuel oilpurchasingdecisions, transportation scheduling and transportation imbalance of natural gas and fuel oil deliveries for the GRE power plants.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely submission of required compliance reports to FERC, NERC and MISO.
- Assist in other regulatory and industry reports for MN generation , including MISO, EIA, DOE, IRS, FERC and NERC.
- Provideguidanceof Asset Performance Management (APM)’s Real Time and Day Ahead desk associated withGRE generation offersand strategies.
- Develop andmaintaina strongprofessionalworking relationship with key vendors and suppliers.
- Provide routine and ad-hoc energy and natural gas market updates to generation personnel.
- ManageGRE generation fleet associated with the MISO tariff, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) rules and regulations, North American Electric Reliability Commission (NERC) rules and regulations, and GRE’s internal risk management policies.
