About the role:
The Manufacturing Engineer leads initiatives to support products, processes, materials, and equipment and drive daily production goals regarding safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity. This role partners with cross-functional teams to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes within the business unit.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring processes and the performance of manufacturing lines, equipment, and tools to identify and resolve issues that contribute to non-conforming parts, low yields, or impact product quality
- Troubleshooting problems related to design, material, or processes for new and existing products
- Utilizing tools such as process capability studies, process development, problem solving, lean, Six Sigma, Value Improvement Projects, and process/test documentation to provide product support achieve business goals
- Designing and coordinating standard engineering tests and experiments; interpret results and prepare reports and standard documentation to summarize and communicate findings to technical stakeholders
- Designing, procuring, and fabricating equipment tooling and fixtures; identify, implement, and manage equipment requirements to support production goals
- Characterizing and enhancing the physical and material properties of components to align with device performance requirements
- Leading cross-functional project teams to improve product quality, performance, and reduce defects
- Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
- Partnering with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure project success
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 2years of relevant experience
- Understanding of manufacturing problem solving, data analysis, and production flow tools (i.e. LEAN manufacturing)
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, electrical, materials science, biomedical or mechanical engineering
- Experience in the medical device industry
- Strong understanding of quality systems and experience working on a process with acceptance activities (i.e. inspections)
- Experience with validation and qualification of equipment and processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to develop and present ideas via visual communication methods

Maximum Salary: $135800
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see — will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
