Onsite Role

Responsibilities:

  • Polymer scientist or Chemical engineer with polymer membrane design and development experience
  • To apply polymer science expertise to research, develop, and optimize polymer-based materials and technologies that enable innovative, high-performance, and manufacturable products to be used for the development of novel cardiovascular implants.
  • Design, development and integration of next generation technology to meet customer and market demands in rapidly growing and evolving medical device marketplace.
  • Material characterization testing and analysis.
  • Apply scientific and engineering principles to manage and support decision making around key technical issues for the overall system and technical work streams.
  • Prototyping and development of concept ideas, processes and tests.
  • Leverage internal/external partners as necessary to achieve project objectives.
  • Work cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on complex projects.
  • Document development and analysis by writing documents, reports, memos, change requests.

Education/

Experience:

  • BS degree or more from an accredited school in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 1+ years with Master’s Degree.
  • New product development experience in implants or cardiovascular products.
  • Experience in medical device polymers and/or biomaterials.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry testing and data interpretation.
  • Ability to provide technical insights as it relates to product design and leadership.

Preferred:

  • Experience in exploratory or early phase product development.
  • Experience in adhesives, material coatings, and coating techniques.
  • Experience in managing and supporting technical trade-off decisions to optimize design, performance, usability, manufacturability, cost-efficiency and reliability.
