POSITION:
PD Laser Technician II
FULLTIME: 6-month Assignment
LOCATION:
Maple Grove, MN (On-site)
SCHEDULE: 8AM-4:30PM
PAY RANGE: $2 5-27/HR (Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Base pay information is based on market location.)
Assist Process Development engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment. This level position requires an extensive knowledge base and a high degree of independence. You'll work hands-on to solve complex problems in a fast-paced, global environment, focusing on developing laser processes from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute assigned tasks for project deliverables.
- Develop solutions and contribute to initial design, testing, and process concepts.
- Construct prototype products and/or from concepts.
- Organize, coordinate, and execute prototyping efforts with minimal engineering guidance.
- Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.
- Coordinate procuring and qualification of new or modified laser equipment.
- Prepare reports/documentation to communicate results to the technical community.
- Use developed networks in assisting engineering teams in obtaining necessary materials, services, and data.
- Work with internal resources and external vendors to identify and obtain supplies and services.
- Train/Coach peers on the technical aspects of their job.
- Typically makes important technical contributions as part of an extended team primarily for projects of medium to high complexity with minimal supervision.
- Work cooperatively with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain and Marketing to ensure project success.
- Proposes and develops new or modified designs/materials/processes under minimal direction from senior technical staff. Identifies problems and proposes solutions to technical challenges. Independently solves basic issues within functional area. May mentor on technical or scientific applications.
- Supports, researches, and evaluates new technologies within functional area. Remains knowledgeable of available technologies within functional area. May identify new applications for established technologies (e.g. equipment, systems, etc.).
- Influences peers and project teams with well documented technical arguments and able to articulate resource needs to accomplish experiments.
- 2+ years with an AA degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience.
- Experience with Laser systems will be a must have. (Fiber laser, Nd:
YAG laser, or femto laser) - Machine integration including optical systems.
- Aerotech programming.
- Experience with CAD software (Creating programs for laser systems).
- May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
- The ability to lift up to 30lbs.
- Use of computers and technology.
