RF Test Development Engineer

Summary

The RF Test Development Engineer designs, develops and implements test solutions for product manufacturing and design verification to ensure robust and high-quality production of RF electronic assemblies. The role focuses on Celestica’s RF testing infrastructure, advancing test platforms to support products up to 50 GHz and primarily serves Aerospace and Defense customers. The engineer establishes test strategies and architects solutions based on product design specifications and production test requirements.

The position is part of a global engineering services organization, with local leadership and integration with an expansive network of test development engineers.

• Lead the development of production test solutions, including strategic planning, design and implementation.
• Create test development proposals based on production test requirements, considering resource needs (people and equipment) and estimating execution scope (cost and schedule).
• Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of support engineers, both local and remote.
• Provide input to non‑technical elements of an engineering project, including project resourcing, financial estimates and scheduling.
• Review and interpret product design requirements/specifications and develop production test strategies.
• Act as the primary customer technical contact.
• Analyze trade‑offs in complex test systems and recommend solutions.
• Coordinate site and network‑wide deployment efforts.
• Manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
• Contribute to short‑term and long‑term investment and skill development strategies and business cases with global impact.
• Complete test development solution support, including hardware & software elements, system integration, qualification, and installation to meet product, quality and test requirements outlined in the test plan.
• Debug tester issues using design of experiments, tools and failure analysis methodologies.

• 7 to 10 years of related experience in RF test development, specifically within Aerospace and Defense.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of RF test operations up to 50 GHz, high‑frequency RF test development, and detector/test platform architecture.
• Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW, Test Stand, Python, and other test development tools.
• Strong project management, leadership, financial acumen, communication, negotiation, presentation, problem‑solving, customer interaction, stakeholder management, quality and lean principles.

Functional/Systems/Stress test operations: ESD controls, ESS hardware, ESS profile, functional/system test solution support, RF test operations.

Functional test development:
