About the Role
The Head of Engineering is responsible for leading and governing the Engineering function at Company level, ensuring the effective development, industrialization, and continuous improvement of products, technologies, and engineering processes.
The role ensures alignment between Company engineering priorities and Group engineering guidelines, fostering consistency of methodologies, scalability of solutions, and cross-company synergies where applicable.
Acting as the Company reference point for engineering matters, the Head of Engineering coordinates with the Coesia Engineering Center (CEC) and Coesia’s Central Engineering Division to contribute to Group-wide technology evolution, common standards, and best practices, while safeguarding the specific business, product, and market needs of the Company.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Leads and develops the Company Engineering function, ensuring technical excellence, timely execution, and alignment with business objectives;
- Oversees the design, development, and industrialization of products and technical solutions, ensuring robustness, performance, and cost-effectiveness;
- Lead and drive engineering change management initiatives, guiding the transition from a predominantly custom-engineered approach to a more standardized and modular design model, enabling reuse of modules and sub-assemblies, improving efficiency across engineering and production, reducing cost, and supporting scalable business growth.
- Contribute to the improvement of product cost structure and efficiency by promoting engineering solutions that optimize design, standardization, and industrialization.
- Defines and continuously improves engineering methodologies, processes, and tools, ensuring consistency, scalability, and compliance with Group guidelines where applicable;
- Ensures effective coordination between Engineering, R&D, Product Management, Operations, Project Management and other key functions to support product roadmap execution;
- Promotes knowledge sharing, skills development, and a culture of continuous improvement within the Engineering organization;
- Monitors engineering capacity, workload, and priorities, optimizing resource allocation and supporting collaboration with external partners when required;
- Represents the Company within the Coesia Engineering Center (CEC), contributing to the definition of common engineering standards, technology roadmaps, and innovation initiatives;
- Supports technology scouting and evaluation of emerging trends and customer needs, in collaboration with Divisional Engineering and the North American Sales teams, to meet demands and customer needs.
- Solid experience in Engineering leadership roles within complex, high tech or industrial machinery environments;
- Strong knowledge of products, technologies, and engineering processes relevant to MGS’ business;
- Demonstrated experience in engineering leadership roles with a strong focus on cost optimization and design efficiency within complex industrial environments.
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic or equivalent);
- Proven experience operating in matrix and international organizational contexts;
- Ability to act as a trusted technical advisor to the Company CEO and executive team;
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills and experience;
- Structured problem-solving mindset and continuous improvement orientation;
- Availability to travel, as required.

Pending professional experiences development, the base salary range for this role is between $156K-$208K. The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
