TITLE

Mechanical Engineer (US Citizenship Required)
MAX RATE
: $62/hr W2 (no health benefits, no paid PTO while on contract – an hour worked is an hour paid)
LOCATION
:
Hybrid in Maple Grove, MN 55369 (no relocation package). Candidate must work a hybrid schedule: minimum 3 days on site per week, Tuesday and Wednesday mandatory. Monday or Thursday optional for 3rd day.
DURATION
: 12+ months
SCHEDULE
: 9/80 (every other Friday off)
Researches, plans, analyzes, designs, and develops mechanical products such as ammunition handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and other devices.
Performs technical analysis, testing, and evaluation of moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and computer programs.
Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documents, models, and test results to ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
Develops and writes technical documentation, revises existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations.
May deliver technical presentations related to production support activities.
Creates and maintains product parts, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo Parametric 11 modeling software.
Performs complex engineering design, development, analysis, experimentation, test, and product assurance tasks of limited complexity for a range of engineering design and analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices for a complex portion of a technical project.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with customers.
Acquires and maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering disciplines, industry practices, trends, and applications. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety policies and rules.
Provides input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Skills Required- Working knowledge of creating moderately complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD systems, preferably PTC Pro-E or Creo.
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems requiring a professional level of engineering knowledge.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with internal or external shops to manufacture designs.
- Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.
- Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines.
- Experience in a military product production environment.
- Experience in developing precision assembly tooling.
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in a relevant work environment.
- Good working knowledge of GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5-2009 or
-2018). - Good working knowledge of Tolerance Stack Analysis.
- 2+ years experience with Creo modeling and drawing generation.
- Experience with EPOM system, preferably Windchill.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Education requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant technical discipline (typically mechanical or aerospace engineering) plus 4 years relevant experience or an M.S. degree and 2 years experience.
