Mechanical Design Engineer (Contract) – Maple Grove, MN

Pay:
Up to $62.95/hour

Location: 100% Onsite – Maple Grove, MN

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for a contract opportunity supporting the development, assembly, and testing of advanced defense and aerospace systems. This role is ideal for engineers with expertise in CAD design, Creo modeling, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and military product development
.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, structures, mechanisms, and production tooling.
  • Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using PTC Creo Parametric
    .
  • Perform engineering analysis, testing, validation, and product support activities.
  • Interpret technical specifications, drawings, models, and test results to ensure compliance with engineering and military standards.
  • Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis to mechanical designs.
  • Support manufacturing, assembly, and testing teams throughout product development.
  • Develop technical documentation, reports, and engineering presentations.
  • Collaborate with customers, project teams, and manufacturing partners to ensure project success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 4+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Creo modeling and drawing generation
    .
  • Experience with Windchill or similar EPDM/PDM systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack analysis, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting military, aerospace, defense, or precision-engineered products preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
