The Role
We’re looking for a R&D Engineer to lead the design and development of heart valve technologies. This role is highly technical and hands‑on, focused on valve design, testing, and product development within a regulated medical device environment. You’ll work cross‑functionally to bring new valve technologies from concept through validation and toward commercialization.
What You'll Do- Lead design and development of transcatheter heart valve technologies
- Plan and execute bench testing, hydrodynamic testing, and preclinical evaluations
- Develop and validate test methods, fixtures, and evaluation protocols
- Solve complex engineering challenges through root cause analysis and data‑driven decisions
- Support verification & validation activities for regulatory submissions
- Partner with Manufacturing on technology transfer and scale‑up
- Collaborate with Regulatory and Quality to ensure compliance and product readiness
- Present technical findings and influence design decisions
- 3+ years of R&D/product development experience (3+ in medical devices)
- Experience designing and testing complex medical or implantable devices Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to lead technical work streams
- Hands‑on experience with prototyping, testing, and data analysis
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field (advanced degree a plus)
- Experience in structural heart, TMVR/TAVR, or valve development
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, biomechanics, and materials
- Experience with design controls, V&V, and regulatory submissions
- Familiarity with CAD (Solid Works), FEA, and analytical tools (Minitab)
- Direct impact on next‑gen valve technology, not sustaining legacy products
- Broad ownership across design, testing, and development strategy
- Opportunity to work on complex, high‑innovation structural heart devices

- Visibility with leadership and decision‑makers; expertise in structural heart valve development is highly preferred
Permanent position based out of Maple Grove, MN.
