Job Details
Mechanical Engineer (US Citizenship REQUIRED) – Maple Grove, MN. Duration: 12+ months.
Schedule:
9/80 (every other Friday off). Hybrid in Maple Grove, MN 55369 (no relocation package). Candidate must work a hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days on site per week; Tuesday and Wednesday are mandatory on-site; Monday or Thursday optional for the 3rd on-site day).

DESCRIPTION:
- Researches, plans, analyzes, designs, and develops mechanical products such as ammunition handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and other devices.
- Performs technical analysis, testing, and evaluation of moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and computer programs.
- Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documents, models, and test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
- Develops and writes technical documentation, revises existing documentation, and provides input to technical papers or presentations.
- May deliver technical presentations related to production support activities.
- Creates and maintains product parts, assemblies and drawings using PTC Creo Parametric 11 modeling software.
- Performs complex engineering design, development, analysis, experimentation, test, and product assurance tasks within a technical project.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with customers.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering disciplines, industry practices, trends, and applications; maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety policies and rules.
- Provides input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. Typically 4 years of relevant experience; or an MS degree with 2 years of experience. - Experience:
Minimum 4 years in a relevant work environment; product support on a development program assembly line; ability to troubleshoot multiple subsystems from receiving inspection through final assembly. - Skills:
Proficiency in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis; ability to create moderately complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD systems (preferably PTC Pro/E or CREO); strong verbal and written communication; experience working with internal or external shops to manufacture designs. - Experience with Creo modeling and drawing generation (2+ years).
- Other:
Familiarity with military and commercial design standards; experience in military product production environments; experience developing precision assembly tooling.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; a relevant technical discipline.
- US Citizenship required.
- No C2C, no 1099. Rates offered at hire will depend on education, experience, interview results and skill level.
