Key Responsibilities
  • Support engineers in the design, development, fabrication, assembly, testing, and validation of new electronic and electromechanical systems
  • Assist in developing schematics, design specifications, parts lists, and other engineering documentation while providing recommendations for design improvements
  • Assemble, inspect, troubleshoot, rework, repair, and modify complex electronic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • Perform prototype builds and equipment assembly using engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions
  • Conduct laboratory testing, experiments, calibration, alignment, and performance verification using a variety of specialized test equipment
  • Diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause troubleshooting to support product development and engineering investigations
  • Fabricate mechanical and electrical components from engineering drawings and prepare test samples for evaluation
  • Assemble, repair, and rework printed circuit boards containing both surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components
  • Review engineering designs, tooling, and test equipment for functionality, accuracy, and manufacturability
  • Document testing activities, record results, and prepare technical reports to support engineering teams
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and work areas while following established quality and safety standards
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or two-year technical degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a technician supporting engineering, manufacturing, production, or prototype development environments
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, engineering sketches, and technical documentation
  • Experience assembling, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronic and electromechanical equipment
  • Hands-on experience conducting laboratory testing, calibration, equipment alignment, and performance verification
  • Experience generating accurate test data, documenting results, and supporting engineering investigations
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to producing high-quality work
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience supporting engineering product development, prototype builds, laboratory testing, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience assembling, repairing, and reworking printed circuit boards with both surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components
  • Experience fabricating mechanical and electrical components from engineering drawings or sketches
  • Familiarity with prototype development, engineering laboratories, or research and development environments
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, environmental test equipment, or other electronic laboratory instrumentation
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation practices, configuration control, and quality inspection processes
