The Ash Group is hiring a Sr Mechanical Engineer (24506) for our client, a global leader providing advanced systems and support in defense, aerospace, and security. This is a 12-month contract working in Maple Grove, MN (Hybrid). We are offering a pay rate up to $60 per hour based on skill set.

Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing, analyzing, and developing complex mechanical systems such as ammunition handling and missile launchers for the organization. The role drives product innovation and ensures compliance with engineering standards and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities- Research and plan mechanical product concepts
- Analyze technical specifications and test results
- Design and develop solid models and assemblies using CAD
- Create and maintain product documentation
- Deliver technical presentations to support production
- Perform complex engineering analysis and experimentation
- Maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with safety policies
- Provide input for project planning and budgeting
- Collaborate with manufacturing shops to prototype designs
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering plus 4 years relevant experience or Master’s degree and 2 years experience
- Minimum 4 years of work experience in a relevant engineering environment
- Proficient in creating moderately complex solid models using PTC Pro‑E or Creo
- Ability to solve moderately complex design and development problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with internal or external shops to manufacture designs
- Good working knowledge of GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5-2009 or
-2018) - Good working knowledge of tolerance stack analysis
- 2+ years’ experience with Creo modeling and drawing generation
- Experience with the EPOM system, preferably Windchill
- Familiarity with military and commercial design standards
- Familiarity with current computer applications in engineering
- Experience in a military product production environment
- Experience in developing precision assembly tooling
