R&D Technician III

Job Purpose

This position works independently to assist R&D engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.

1. Develop concepts and accordingly construct prototypes/products from concepts.
2. Utilize basic mechanical drawing or CAD software to document prototypes and fixtures.
3. Explore and propose creative solutions based on solid rationales and contribute to design and process concepts.
4. Organize, coordinate, and execute building and testing of prototypes/products per engineering instructions.
5. Assist project teams in establishing specifications and quality standards. 6. Use internal resources and qualified external vendors to assist engineering teams in identifying and obtaining supplies and services. 7. Act as a resource to other employees.
8. Communicate project status to project teams.

Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 3 years of related experience. Machinist experience or R&D experience is a plus. CAD and Technical support experience.
