Mechanical Engineer
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Maple Grove, MN for a one-year hybrid temporary contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical products including ammunition-handling systems, structures, gun systems, missile launchers, mechanisms, and related equipment. This role requires strong Creo modeling and drawing experience, mechanical analysis skills, and experience supporting designs through manufacturing, testing, and production.
Required Skills• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience, or master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience creating moderately complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD software.
• Working knowledge of PTC Pro/ENGINEER or Creo.
• Ability to create and maintain product parts, assemblies, and drawings.
• Ability to solve moderately complex mechanical design and development problems.
• Experience analyzing design specifications, drawings, models, documents, and test results.
• Experience working with internal or external manufacturing shops to produce designs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop technical documentation and support presentations.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with at least three days onsite each week.
• 2+ years of Creo modeling and drawing-generation experience.
• Working knowledge of GD&T principles under ASME Y14.5-2009 or Y14.5-2018.
• Working knowledge of tolerance-stack analysis.
• Windchill or comparable EPDM experience.
• Familiarity with military and commercial design standards.
• Experience in a military-product production environment.
• Experience developing precision assembly tooling.
• Between 4 and 15 years of relevant experience.
• Research, plan, analyze, design, and develop mechanical products and mechanisms.
• Create and maintain Creo Parametric 11 models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Perform engineering analysis, testing, experimentation, and product-assurance activities.
• Evaluate designs for compliance with engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
• Support manufacturing, production, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Develop and revise technical documentation.
• Provide input to project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with customers, manufacturing personnel, and project teams.
• 9/80 schedule.
• Minimum of three onsite days per week in Maple Grove, MN.
• Tuesday and Wednesday are mandatory onsite days.
• Monday or Thursday may be selected as the third onsite day.
• Overtime may be required.
• No travel required.
Pay
$55.57 per hour
• Per diem eligible
