The Rewards- Competitive base salary $108,000-$148,000.

The Environmental Manager is responsible for leading environmental compliance, planning, permitting, monitoring, and continuous improvement across heavy highway construction operations, gravel pit activities, and asphalt plant operations. This role supports field teams, plant operations, project management, and leadership by ensuring work is performed in compliance with applicable environmental regulations, permit requirements, and company standards.
Primary Responsibilities- Manage and lead the environmental team.
- Lead environmental compliance across all company operations.
- Manage environmental permitting and reporting.
- Support stormwater pollution prevention and erosion control compliance.
- Oversee aggregate pit and asphalt plant environmental compliance.
- Manage spill prevention, response, and waste handling programs.
- Conduct field inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring.
- Provide environmental guidance to operations and project teams.
- Lead environmental training, education, and communication.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, owners, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain environmental records, systems, and documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement and risk reduction.
- Environmental and Erosion Control Team.
- Work will be performed in a combination of office and field locations. Familiarity with hazardous work environments and navigating heavy equipment sites is a requisite.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to input information, handle, carry (with and without assistance), feel objects, tools (of varying size and weight), or controls. Frequently reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear, and taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift (including above shoulder or head), move, and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Frequent exposure to high noise levels.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Geology, Natural Resources, or a related field; equivalent field experience may be considered.
- Experience managing environmental compliance for heavy civil, highway, aggregate, mining, asphalt, industrial, or construction operations.
