LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Assistant Controller to play a key leadership role in supporting the Global Corporate Controller for a large privately held manufacturing company headquartered in the Twin Cities. This position ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting across multiple domestic and international entities, while driving operational efficiency and supporting strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead global accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, including complex US GAAP consolidations and intercompany transactions.
  • Oversee the monthly close process and maintain ERP system structures to support a growing global organization.
  • Analyze financial results and variances, and support integration, reorganization, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Tax teams to manage intercompany agreements and ensure compliance with global accounting standards.
  • Manage external audits across multiple entities and maintain strong relationships with audit firms.
  • Oversee capital expenditure processes, internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead a team of 8-10 individuals on the corporate and cost accounting teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a global environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to research and apply international accounting standards.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, audit management, and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with systems such as IFS, SharePoint, Adaptive, and others is a plus.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree or additional certifications.
  • Experience with global accounting operations and multi-entity consolidations.
