Position: Controller (NetSuite)

Storylink is a brand engagement and creative agency located in the Twin Cities. We design and build custom brand engagement exhibits, digital assets and activations.

As a Controller
, you will partner with our functional teams to manage the financial status of the company and educate on the financial stewardship responsibilities of the team towards our profitability goals. A successful candidate will be self‑motivated, proactive, and have exceptional financial management skills and understanding of GAAP. This position requires a strong understanding of finance and reporting strategies, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

This role reports to the President/COO & Integrator and will be critical to understanding how to create the right financial structure for reporting to make real time decisions on the state of the company. This involves understanding production cost accounting, G/L account structures, ERP system concepts and reporting. This is a fulfilling role for those that want flexibility, creativity and empowerment to build out the future of our culture.

Job Type: Full-time

  • Local to the Twin Cities metro area and can travel to/from work site in Maple Grove, MN daily. Must be able to commute to/from the office on a daily schedule. You will have remote/flex schedule opportunities upon pre‑arrangements with your manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Own and oversee all core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, and month‑end and year‑end close.
  • Serve as the primary owner and power user of Net Suite Financials
    , ensuring accurate configuration, maintenance, reporting, and continuous optimization of financial processes.
  • Lead the monthly close process, delivering timely, accurate financial statements and variance analysis for leadership review.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Partner with department leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, providing insights that drive smart, proactive decision‑making.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and balance sheet reconciliations with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
  • Prepare audit schedules and act as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax advisors, and financial partners.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate processes, and improve reporting through Net Suite and related tools.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members, setting clear expectations and driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support leadership with ad hoc financial analysis, scenario modeling, and special projects as the business scales.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, prepare financial reports, and provide recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, MBA, or a related field.
  • Super‑user level of Net Suite ERP experience or related ERP software applications.
  • Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to organizational planning.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Nice to have
  • Experience with EOS platform
  • Trade Show or agency experience
