The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordination of clerical, scheduling duties and phone calls. Also responsible for coordination of registering patients, as necessary.
This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM based upon business need out of our Edina & Maple Grove offices.
Almara Women's Health | Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:- Responsible for accurately scheduling surgeries/procedures, notifying patients of any time changes
- Update insurance information as appropriate and ensure updates get on patient’s chart
- Work in conjunction with Physicians and Manager on block scheduling and utilization
- Work with the Patient Services Representative’s team on the flow of the schedule to maintain smooth work flow of the day
- Assist in training new staff in scheduling as necessary
- Communicate equipment availability to team on a weekly basis
- Report occurrences through the center’s established occurrence reporting process related to employee and/or patient/visitor events
- Foster the developmental and educational process of self, colleagues, orientees and students (includes functioning as a preceptor)
- Participate in acceptable continuing education, fostering career and skill development including meeting departmental continuing education requirements
- Maintain strong, interpersonal relationships, professionalism and communication with all physician office schedulers and other coworkers
- Contribute personally to the “team oriented” environment by demonstrating cooperative, constructive, problem-solving interaction with all Surgery Center employees
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- Two years’ experience in related field
- Medical technology knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, while achieving results in a fast-paced environment
