The Sterilization Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sterile environment within the dental office. This position involves cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards and office protocols. The Sterilization Technician ensures that all tools and equipment are prepared and available for use by the clinical team while maintaining a clean and organized sterilization area.

• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all dental instruments, equipment, and toolsin accordance with infection control procedures and regulatory standards.
• Operate sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and other tools used for sterilization.
• Ensure sterilization processes are completed efficiently and thoroughly,maintainingaccuraterecords of sterilization cycles and documentation.
• Regularly inspect sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning and promptly report any issues for maintenance or repair.
• Follow proper protocols for handling and disposal of contaminated materials, including gloves, gauze, and other medical waste.
• Maintain an organized sterilization area and ensure all necessary supplies are stocked, including disinfectants, sterilizing agents, and packaging materials.
• Monitor inventory levels of sterilization-related supplies and notify the office manager whenadditionalsupplies are needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures in a clinical environment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures precisely.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with sterilization equipment and procedures.
• Good organizational andtime-management skills.
• Ability tomaintaina clean and safe working environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies as needed.
