What You’ll Do
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, assembly drawings and manufacturing process documentation.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) across different departments to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of technical content.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, easy-to-understand documentation suitable for various audiences, including operators, technicians, and engineers.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Participate in the review and revision process to continuously improve documentation quality and usability.
  • Manage documentation projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress to meet deadlines.
  • Act as the ECO Lead for the Fire Group in collaboration with Engineering and Product Management.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technical writers, offering feedback and support to help them develop their skills.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in manufacturing technology to incorporate into documentation as needed.
  • Assist in developing training materials and conducting training sessions for manufacturing staff as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and other departments to facilitate communication and ensure alignment on documentation needs and requirements.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team goals and project milestones.
Qualifications What You Bring Experience That Drives Success
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a technical writer, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and terminology.
  • Proficiency in document authoring tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and requirements applicable to manufacturing, such as ISO, UL, FM, or other industry-specific regulations.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with graphical illustration software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate technical information clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization.
