We are seeking a Senior Azure Database Architect with 12+ years of experience to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale Azure database and Data Lakehouse solutions. This is a hands‑on architecture role requiring deep expertise in Azure cloud technologies, database modernization, and large-scale data platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Architect, design, and implement Azure SQL Database, Data Lake, and Lakehouse solutions.
- Design scalable data models, database architectures, and data integration strategies.
- Build and optimize ETL/data transformation pipelines using Azure services.
- Ensure database performance, scalability, security, and high availability.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Lead database modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership.
- Mentor engineers, establish best practices, and maintain architecture documentation.
- 12+ years of experience in database architecture, database engineering, or cloud data platforms.
- Strong expertise with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Experience with Oracle Database and enterprise data migration.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
, Azure Dev Ops, Azure Monitor, Azure CLI, Power Shell, and ARM Templates. - Expertise in data modeling, schema design, indexing, and performance tuning
. - Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instances, Elastic Pools, backup & recovery, and Geo-Replication
. - Strong understanding of RBAC, encryption, network security, and cloud governance
. - Knowledge of Teradata Data Warehouse is a plus.
- Proven experience leading enterprise Azure database architecture and cloud modernization projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Minnesota
