Associate Community Service Officer; part-time - Apple Valley

Non-sworn uniformed position within the Police Department. This is an entry level responsible position in the Police Department which performs duties involving contact with the general public both by phone and in person. Assists and relieves law enforcement personnel in the performance of various law enforcement functions that do not require being armed. This position will involve shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in all weather conditions, or may work in the office or in the holding facility in direct contact with persons who have been arrested or detained. Typical duties may vary from routine non-sworn police work to more complex tasks.

Position is under the direct supervision of the Patrol Sergeant.

• Perform duties involving contact with the general public by phone and in person.
• Assist and relieve law enforcement personnel in performing various law‑enforcement functions that do not require an arm.
• Work shift hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Work in all weather conditions or in the office or holding facility in direct contact with persons who have been arrested or detained.
• Perform routine or complex non‑sworn police work under the direct supervision of the Patrol Sergeant.
