Job Title: Maintenance Technician, Multifamily
Location: Avery Park Homes, Minnesota
Compensation: $22.95 – $27.00 per hour
OverviewThe Maintenance Technician provides support and is accountable for delivering on our commitments to our residents. This includes quality move‑ins, residential satisfaction, expedited service, and personal attention to the resident.
Responsibilities- Prepare make‑ready apartments, including painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, general repairs, and housekeeping duties.
- Respond to resident requests in a timely manner with a professional attitude.
- Maintain grounds, pools, hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to keep clean, operational, and safe.
- On‑call scheduling may be required to respond to after‑hour emergencies.
- Report any maintenance concerns on vacant units, models, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Perform maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Keep all safety procedures and safeguard all company tools and equipment.
- Provide superior customer service and represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent technical or vocational training.
- 1+ years of related maintenance experience.
- Valid Driver’s License and EPA 608 – Minimum Type II and CPO or local city required certificate.
- Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, basic electric, general carpentry skills, painting, and snow removal (if applicable).
- Strong communication skills and ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and prepare and interpret bar graphs.
- Background in fair housing laws and commitment to maintaining state, local, and federal fair housing compliance.
This role operates in a professional office environment and requires frequent travel between properties, including work in varying outdoor weather conditions. The employee must be able to stand, walk, and ascend and descend staircases and ladders, and lift or move objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and frequently.
