About the roleBoston Scientific is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead key programs within the WATCHMAN Program Management department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading teams, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
As Program Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various projects to ensure smooth and efficient operations within the WATCHMAN Sustaining business. Project scopes range from small, one‑off tasks to large process improvements, design changes, line extensions, design transfers, and corporate initiatives aimed at driving global quality and productivity.
You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, manage project budgets and timelines, and ensure that all projects meet organizational goals and requirements. Functional partners may include, but are not limited to, Research & Development, Design Assurance, Packaging, Regulatory, Process Development, Operations, Supplier Engineering/Quality, and Supply Chain.
An ideal candidate for this role will enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment, be innovative, technically strong, and a strategic thinker. They should demonstrate a deep understanding of the business, possess excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills, have a strong desire to win, and collaborate effectively with divisional, regional, and cross‑functional partners.
Work model, sponsorship, relocationAt Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Maple Grove, MN office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Yourresponsibilities will include
- Manage key initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes; develop and implement project plans; build team ownership and commitment to plans
- Estimate project effort and resource needs using standard tools and collaboration with key staff
- Prepare project schedules and budgets using Microsoft Project, Excel, and other tools
- Lead small to medium‑size, multi‑site, cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, self‑directed environment
- Collaborate with cross‑functional management teams on team resourcing, development, and feedback to align with strategic business needs
- Identify potential risks and issues impacting delivery or business outcomes; develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Resolve complex problems and escalation issues when appropriate
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership
- Adapt project plans and processes in response to business or operational challenges; reprioritize as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading cross‑functional project work in R&D, Process Development, Design Assurance, or Operations
- Proven ability to lead virtual teams, manage multiple complex initiatives, influence across functions, and communicate effectively at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools (MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
- Willingness to travel to Boston Scientific sites, vendors, and customers as needed (travel not expected to exceed 10%)
- Program Management certification (PMP or equivalent)
- Prior experience with sustaining engineering projects or knowledge of sustaining processes
Minimum Salary: $99,100
Maximum Salary: $188,300
