Position: Regional Maintenance Director – Minnesota

Salary Range: $85,000–$95,000 annually

Location: Minnesota (Regional Oversight)

Position Summary

The Regional Maintenance Director is responsible for providing strategic oversight, leadership, and hands-on support for all maintenance and construction operations across multiple facilities within Minnesota. This role oversees site-level Maintenance Directors, ensures regulatory compliance, drives preventive maintenance programs, and manages capital projects and renovations.

Experience in nursing homes, assisted living, or senior housing environments is a strong plus, as this role directly supports resident safety, survey readiness, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong regional leadership experience, proven project management expertise, and a high level of technical and regulatory proficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Provide regional oversight of all maintenance, construction, and grounds operations across assigned Minnesota facilities.
  • Lead, coach, and support facility Maintenance Directors, ensuring consistency, accountability, and best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Oversee capital projects, renovations, and construction initiatives, including budgeting, timelines, vendor coordination, and quality control.
  • Ensure all facilities are maintained in compliance with state and federal regulations, including DHS 83, Life Safety Code, and OSHA standards.
  • Oversee state-required regulatory documentation, inspections, and corrective action plans, including management and tracking within TELS and other regulatory systems.
  • Direct and support maintenance activities involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and utility systems.
  • Review facility needs and recommend improvements to equipment, systems, and operational processes.
  • Partner with executive leadership, administrators, and clinical teams to support operational goals and resident safety.
  • Ensure facility grounds are safe, attractive, and well-maintained at all locations.
  • Participate in and support each facility’s Performance Improvement Program (PIP).
  • Lead and maintain documentation related to Safety Committees and safety initiatives.
  • Utilize maintenance and work-order systems, project tracking tools, and reporting dashboards to ensure visibility and accountability across the region.
Other Responsibilities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Conduct responsibilities in accordance with company policies, Code of Business Conduct, and all applicable federal and state laws.
  • Be available for regional on-call support, including emergency response when required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of building codes, life safety requirements, and plant operations.
  • Advanced understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, safety standards, and healthcare regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams across multiple locations.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including managing vendors, budgets, timelines, and renovations.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using CMMS/work order systems, spreadsheets, project management tools, and state regulatory platforms such as TELS.
  • Excellent communication skills with residents, families, staff, vendors, and executive leadership.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or additional education preferred.
