About the Role
As a Manufacturing Technician II, you are responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations in daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve production goals (quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and safety). Daily tasks include responding to equipment downtimes, performing routine preventive maintenance on production equipment, and supporting Manufacturing Engineers (ME) in value improvement projects. Most of your time is spent on the production floor, working on equipment, and engaging with our Medical Device Specialists (MDS operators).

This position follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week.

Your Responsibilities Will Include- Apply mechanical, electrical, control, and pneumatic knowledge to troubleshoot and solve equipment and process problems for various automated equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize downtime.
- Identify and implement corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.
- Perform equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessary.
- Support equipment startups and shutdowns, which may include staying late to make sure equipment is in a safe state.
- Install and validate equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
- Modify existing and develop new tooling and fixtures.
- Evaluate and order necessary equipment, tools and fixtures.
- Take responsibility for quality and adhere to manufacturing process requirements, the Boston Scientific Corporation Quality Policy, and the Strategic Quality Process (SQP). Proactively communicate quality issues and concerns.
- Understand and apply Lean Manufacturing and related principles.
- Assist in Value Improvement (VIP) and implementing new equipment or processes or improving existing ones for cost savings.
- Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians.
- Understand and apply flex strategy, rotate as necessary and work well with all group members, both within the team and cross-functionally.
- Actively participate in Shared Responsibility and continuous improvement teams.
- Understand, follow and promote all BSC and site-specific policies and procedures.
- Observe and comply with all safety rules and regulations, including QSR and ISO Standards.
- Attend and pass all core required BSC and site-specific training (e.g., QS Basics, RTK, Lean Training).
- Mandatory weekend overtime is required on a rotating basis (minimum once every four weeks).
- 2 years of experience with High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience, training, or apprenticeships.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and effective troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Proven reliability with a strong attendance record and consistent work ethic.
- Proactive communicator and team player who seeks opportunities to improve processes and resolve issues collaboratively.
- Previous technical line support experience in high-volume Medical Device manufacturing.
- Previous experience working with Manufacturing Automation.
- Familiar with PLC wiring and control troubleshooting.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve high-level equipment and process issues.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities; able to guide junior technicians and influence cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ownership of equipment reliability, performance, and long-term corrective actions.
Minimum salary: $43,368;
Maximum salary: $73,736. Compensation is commensurate with experience, training, education, licensure, and certifications. Variable compensation may be included (overtime, shift differential, bonus, long-term incentives).
