Aggregate Operator​/Utility

Essential Functions

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment, including cutting and welding under the guidance of the Lead person or other designated personnel.
• Perform daily pre/post‑shift inspections on equipment and maintain maintenance log.
• Use a hand shovel and operate a skid steer, front end loader, and other tools to clean around plant equipment and maintain roadways and parking areas.
• Participate in plant operations including production, loading, shipping, and quality control.
• Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility and safe traffic flow throughout the site.
• Operate plant‑specific mobile equipment in a safe manner as needed.
• Aide in the training of co‑workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Participate in Monthly Safety Observations and Suggestions, and take part in the Martin Marietta Safety Culture.

This position operates 100% of the time in an outdoor surface aggregate pit setting at various locations throughout the Twin Cities metro.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

This is a full‑time position that regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must hold a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
• 1+ year related experience

• Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated
• Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Willing to cross‑train in different areas of production
• Willing to travel to various work locations around the Twin Cities metro area

We are excited to share the base salary rate for this position is $29.94 - $46.61. Conditions and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 49.

This is a safety‑sensitive role and Martin Marietta will continue to require drug testing that does include testing for cannabis/THC.
