Medical Device Assembler - 1st Shift

Location: Maple Grove

Base Salary: $21.00 - $24.00 / hour (Depending on experience)

Job Type: Full-time (Contract to hire with Medix)

Shift & Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM (1st Shift)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Device Assembler I to join our production team in Maple Grove, MN. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine assembly duties, including component assembly under a microscope, material handling, packaging, and loading/unloading lines.

Your primary focus is to build high-quality, life-saving products by strictly following established processes, ensuring all production goals and metrics are met while collaborating closely with your team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Precision Assembly: Manually pick up, move, sort, and assemble intricate parts precisely under a microscope.
  • Production & Goals: Work as part of a team to build products by following standardized processes to meet daily goals and quality metrics.
  • Material Handling: Sort, organize, and place materials or components on assembly tables, racks, or bins.
  • Packaging & Cleaning: Clean finished parts and securely place them in protective bags, boxes, or final shipping packages.
  • Quality Control: Inspect components and immediately report any defective materials or questionable production conditions to the line lead or supervisor.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records, including training logs and required regulatory paperwork.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace; adhere strictly to all safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Basic knowledge of manufacturing assembly techniques and the use of hand tools (experience in medical device manufacturing or working under a microscope is a plus, but not required).
  • Compliance: Must successfully pass a standard background check and drug screening prior to hire.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small parts.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure to meet production deadlines.
    • Ability to work productively and independently with minimal supervision.
    • A friendly, cooperative, and flexible demeanor when working with a diverse team.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently required to lift, push, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently required to sit and/or stand for extended periods during the shift.
  • Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, or balance.
  • Frequently required to use a full range of motion in hands, fingers, and arms for precise manipulation of small materials.
