Electronics Technician, Manufacturing Engineer
Position Description The Client in Maple Grove, MN is seeking an experienced technician to work in its Pilot Production Line performing assembly and test of complex electro-mechanical assembly of electronic products and support equipment. Must be able to understand and work from engineering drawings and sketches and be able to follow written and verbal work instructions. Be able and willing to work additional hours when required, including weekends.
Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive assembly operations of electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies on ordnance systems
Performs a variety of duties assisting team members in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities, troubleshooting and problem solving transitioning new products into production.
Skills Required Required skills include proficient use of electronic test equipment, electrical assembly tools and hand tools. Specific skills include:
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches.
Precision and fine motor skills required for micro/nano scale fabrication, assembly, test with near zero defects.
Must be able to demonstrate high degree of mechanical aptitude and J-STD-001 or have knowledge of these requirements.
Conduct tests using electronics test equipment (ie. Scopes, meters, etc) and generate test report data.
Must demonstrate ability to read and use mechanical assembly and measurement tools such as micrometers and torque wrenches.
Must demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lb.
Skills Preferred Preferred Skills Include
Ability to communicate feedback to the team to support design, fabrication and test improvements.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve assembly issues.
Cirris and/or Automated Test Equipment operator experience
Troubleshooting of electronic, electrical systems
Trained and proficient in manufacturing & quality requirements of IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and J-STD-001 or have knowledge of these requirements
Understanding of basic machining techniques
Basic understanding of GD&T
Experience Required 2-year technical degree or a Minimum of 2 years as a technician performing related tasks, either in a production or prototype environment.
Experience Preferred 2-year technical degree and 2 years as a technician performing related tasks, either in a production or prototype environment.
Education Required 2-year technical degree or a Minimum of 2 years as a technician performing related tasks, either in a production or prototype environment.
