Material Handler

Loads, unloads, and conveys material within or near plant, yard, or work site and performs a combination of tasks under specific direction which may include shipping and/or receiving. Open containers using hand tools, counts, weights and sample materials and use computer system for tracking, logging, verifying, and recording information. Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, multi-level racks, conveyors, and machines by hand.

Conveys materials into or from trucks by hand. Conveys material using carts, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices. Stacks or assembles materials. Aids machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.

Organization skills. Time management skills. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Safety management. Deadline-oriented. Data entry skills. Analyzing information. Heavy lifting as necessary. Inventory control. Dealing with complexity in instructions, paperwork, and other details. Schedule skills. Process improvement capabilities.

Has worked in a warehouse environment. 18+ years old. A valid driver's license. Being able to lift weights from 35 lbs. Some schedule flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, early mornings, or evenings. A minimum of three years of experience in inventory management. Highly detail oriented. Being able to operate a handheld scanner quickly and accurately to find items.
