Electronic Technician
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronic Technician in Minneapolis, MN for a one year contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform electro-mechanical assembly of micro-electronic products and support equipment in a facility environment. The technician will work from engineering drawings and sketches, follow written and verbal work instructions, and support developmental assembly, testing, fabrication, modifications, and assembly of electronic and mechanical components.
Required Skills
- 2-year technical degree or a minimum of 3 years as a technician performing related tasks in a production or prototype environment
- Proficient use of electronic test equipment, electrical assembly tools, and hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches
- Precision and fine motor skills for micro/nano-scale fabrication, assembly, and testing with near-zero defects
- High degree of mechanical aptitude
- J-STD-001 knowledge or experience
- Ability to conduct tests using electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes and meters, and generate test report data
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety objectives and policies
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability and willingness to work additional hours when required, including weekends
- Eligible to obtain a Secret clearance
Preferred Skills
- Ability to communicate feedback to support design, fabrication, and test improvements
- Cirris and/or Automated Test Equipment operator experience
- Experience troubleshooting electronic and electro-mechanical systems
- Training and proficiency in IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and J-STD-001 manufacturing and quality requirements
- Understanding of 3D CAD software
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- 2-year technical degree and 3 years as a technician performing related tasks in a production or prototype environment
What You'll Do
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly of micro-electronic products and support equipment
- Perform repetitive and non-repetitive developmental assembly operations of electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies on ordnance systems
- Assist engineers with mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies, and components
- Conduct testing using electronic test equipment
- Generate test report data
- Follow engineering drawings, sketches, and written and verbal work instructions
- Maintain a safe work environment and support safety objectives and policies
Work Schedule / Shift
- 9/80 schedule
- Full-time onsite
- Approximately 10% travel required
- Overtime may be required, including weekends
