About the role
The Laboratory Equipment Specialist II oversees more than 500 pieces of laboratory equipment supporting the Materials Testing Analysis and Characterization Laboratory. The role ensures equipment remains compliant through calibration, preventive maintenance, qualification/validation, and repair while partnering with internal teams and external vendors in a regulated environment.
LocationMaple Grove, Minnesota – on‑site work required five days per week.
Responsibilities- Manage the Preclinical Equipment Program, including calibration, preventive maintenance, qualification/validation, and repair activities.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and documentation in compliance with site procedures and Global Quality System requirements.
- Coordinate equipment sourcing, purchasing, tracking, and inventory management.
- Investigate equipment discrepancies, complete Nonconforming Equipment (NCEP) documentation, and support validation activities.
- Manage equipment vendors, service contracts, and maintenance providers.
- Ensure laboratory safety, housekeeping, and compliance with applicable standards and operating procedures.
- Monitor equipment performance metrics and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support laboratory tours, facility improvements, and cross‑functional laboratory operations.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working within regulated quality systems, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with equipment qualification/validation, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
Minimum salary: $59,900
Maximum salary: $113,800
