Scientist – Medical Device Research & Testing (Contract)

Location: Maple Grove, MN (Arbor Lakes – Onsite)

Pay Rate: Up to $39/hour

We are seeking a Scientist I for a contract opportunity supporting medical device research, testing, and product development activities. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related scientific fields who enjoy hands‑on laboratory work, data analysis, and problem‑solving in a regulated environment.

The Scientist I will support experimental testing, method development, documentation, and process improvement activities while working closely with cross‑functional technical teams.

Responsibilities
  • Execute laboratory experiments, testing protocols, and data analysis activities
  • Support test method development and validation projects
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and laboratory documentation
  • Analyze experimental data and identify trends or issues
  • Maintain accurate lab notebooks and testing records
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, IQ/OQ activities, and inventory management
  • Collaborate with engineering and scientific teams on research and product development initiatives
  • Follow quality systems, SOPs, EH&S procedures, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related scientific field
  • Minimum 2 years of medical device industry experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with laboratory documentation and data analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Test method development experience
  • Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE), Minitab, or statistical analysis tools
  • Experience testing medical devices in a regulated laboratory environment
