Reproductive Technician Team Lead at Alta Genetics

Location:

Minnesota (Wilmar, Marshall, Pipestone area)

Alta Genetics is seeking a Tech Team Leader to cover the territory of Minnesota. This role is responsible for delivering personalized artificial insemination (AI) services and breeding program support to Alta Customers, with the goal of enhancing their profitability and reinforcing confidence in the Alta brand. The position also plays a key role in representing Alta positively within the agricultural community while supporting local sales teams.

The role includes selling Alta AI services, semen, and related products and programs to help grow market share and meet sales targets.

Responsibilities
  • Provide reliable relief service and sales/service support to the Alta Breeders.
  • Ensure effective communication within the work group for adequate sales unit coverage.
  • Apply Alta knowledge, products, and programs to improve reproductive performance and herd profitability.
  • Manage semen inventory to align with member/customer needs.
  • Provide genetic mating services (e.g., MAP), AI training, and other area support services.
  • Assist in achieving the annual service and semen sales budgets for the sales unit.
  • Contact a sufficient number of prospects daily to strengthen sales.
  • Submit required reports, receipts, and records accurately and on time.
  • Learn and apply Alta programs, services, and AI industry knowledge to improve job performance.
Requirements
  • Employee must be able to artificially inseminate (A.I.) cows.
  • The employee will be expected to work more than forty hours per week, including varied daily hours and weekends.
  • Strong dairy background with experience working with large herds.
  • Degree in Agriculture or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience in heat detection on large farms.
  • Aggressive sales and service person who is self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must possess communication and people skills.
  • Employee must be able to speak Spanish as well as English.
  • Willingness to learn and develop both personally and professionally.
  • Computer skills are required; ability to work with herd management software is a plus.
