HVAC Apprentice - 3rd Year

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time 3rd Year HVAC Apprentice to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.

Location: Maple Grove, MN

• Perform and assist in service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality including fan coils, water source heat pumps, air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
• Assist in the rebuilding of an HVAC unit while receiving detailed direction and collaborating with Journeyman and Foreman
• Drive a company vehicle to and from job sites; transport and maintain inventory of hand tools and necessary materials
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner
• Enter basic data and navigate email, internet, and word processing programs
• Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication
• Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call
• Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers and off‑site learning modules
• Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
• Complete job site hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied, customer safety policies, and OSHA guidelines

• Factory Certified Training, Refrigeration Certification, or other professional on‑the‑job training in the HVAC industry

• Accepted as a 3rd year Apprentice by the union
• High School Diploma or GED
• Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
• Rotational Emergency Call Support
• Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

• Member of local union or willing to join the union
• Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
• OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding)
• Current first aid / CPR card

The rate is subject to the amount outlined in the CBA and could change based on the level offered.
