Position Summary:
This role supports and oversees repair of Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment, utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
- Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
- Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart’s Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.
- Vocational or Technical HVAC certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC and building controls.
- Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a motor‑vehicle record (MVR) report.
- Minimum 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
- Option 1: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance, electrical, plumbing, material handling equipment, or related trades.
- Option 2: 2 years’ store experience.
- Ability to read and speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 – $45.00. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
