• Locate underground utilities for clients and property owners using 811 tickets and industry regulations.
• Interpret utility maps, as‑built civil engineering drawings, GIS information, and other documentation.
• Operate a variety of locating equipment, including pipe and electronic locators.
• Mark location points with flags and/or paint.
• Document work in reports, forms, and memos, photographing located utilities per 811 ticket.
• Investigate and record details of excavations that damage underground utilities.
• Use a cell‑phone‑based app to record locating marks, attach photos, and complete required documentation.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to support clients.

• Minimum 2 years of locator experience.
• Knowledge of best locating practices, procedures, and 811 law.
• Skilled in reading utility maps and engineering drawings.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of all equipment and vehicles.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a DOT physical certification.
• Pass a drug screen.
• Maintain a tobacco‑free vehicle.
• Work in all weather conditions; willing to travel 75%+ of the time.
• Ability to work varying schedules, overtime, and maintain reliable attendance.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
