Position Description

Class A CDL Truck Driver – Maple Grove, MN.

Compensation and Schedule
  • Weekly pay of $1,560 or more
  • Hourly rate: $33.00 per hour
  • Hours per week: 40 or more
  • Per diem pay for 2–3 nights in truck per week
  • Overnights covered by sleeper cab or Ryder‑booked hotels
  • Paid training
  • Schedule:

    Monday – Friday, starting at 5:00 AM
Route, Equipment and Freight
  • Delivery to MN, ND, SD, IA and WI
  • Regional route
  • Tractor:
    Day cab & sleeper
  • Trailer: 48′ and 53′ dry van
  • Equipment: pallet jack and lift gate (Ryder provides training)
  • Freight: touch–palletized retail goods
Vehicle Detail
  • Trucks are 36 months or newer
  • 24/7 roadside maintenance
  • Fuel support at over 800 nationwide facilities

Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including drug & alcohol verification from the last 3 years of employment)
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass the Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the last 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detect, eliminate or minimize safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate records and logs
  • Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by customer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
