Apply to fill our Neighborhood Development Specialist position to work to increase the value of our residential tax base by managing the CRA program and the City's Land Bank Program: create redevelopment opportunities on City-owned lots, expand scattered site infill housing focusing on new housing types, and oversee the sale of City-owned lots to neighbors.

Encourage high quality renovations of acquired properties and strategically acquire houses and lots for the Land Bank. The Neighborhood Development Specialist will analyze and identify emerging needs, trends and issues that impact all types of housing in the City including apartment and condominium buildings, to develop and implement creative strategies to address housing issues in the community. This individual will work with a cross-departmental team of talented and dedicated colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of housing programs, regional resources, advanced technical skills in the use of personal computer technology and software, with a focus on leveraging digital tools, including GIS, to inform decision making. Demonstrated ability to build consensus and develop partnerships and alliances, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with developers, government agencies, attorneys, and financial institutions is key.

A Bachelor's degree with coursework in economics, political science, public administration, urban planning, or a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in housing and community development are required.
