Job Opening – Receptionist

8:00am-4:00pm Monday to Thursday (days are subject to change).

Job Description Salary and Hours of Work

This is a four-day line with hours between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The hourly wage for this role is $21.00.

Reporting to on‑site Management, the Receptionist will respond to all incoming calls, greet and direct all visitors, answering inquiries in a positive and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • To establish and maintain harmonious relationships with residents, their families and employees
  • To run the front desk in a courteous, efficient manner
  • To respond to all incoming phone calls in a professional and welcoming manner
  • To conduct meal attendance and check on missing residents
  • To handle basic administrative duties
  • To balance petty cash and process cash transactions
  • To prepare documents, posters, letters and emails
  • To book calendar events in Outlook
  • To help with activities/music set‑ups and take down
  • To provide security and emergency response for residents when required
  • To clean, disinfect and tidy front desk and common areas
  • To work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents)
  • To complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Previous clerical experience in a related environment preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and other admin applications
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask in a very busy reception area
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal English skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and patience
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
