The Retail Key Account Manager is responsible for national account management tasks including administration, analytics, forecasting, fulfillment, updating product information, building and maintaining customer relationships, growing company revenue, and generating sales from new and existing customers. We are looking for a highly organized, pro‑active, self‑starter, growth‑hungry and sales‑driven individual. This senior sales role is ideal for someone who is eager to grow within a fast‑paced B2B distribution environment and excels at over‑delivering on budget goals and business KPIs.
Key Responsibilities- Be the single point of contact with key national category buyers/merchants. Experience in Home Depot, Mark’s Work Warehouse, Walmart and other hardware players is required.
- Maintain, grow and nurture existing/new business relationships with key players in the retail safety marketplace. Growth‑driven mindset.
- A deep understanding of your customers’ business goals and challenges, resulting in tailored solutions for win‑win scenarios and mutual business success.
- Own customer P&L and deliver profitable, sustainable growth. Build, develop and execute the annual sales plans and budgets to meet Bunzl KPIs.
- Build key seasonal programs by determining the right assortment and high‑ROI supporting tactics; plan and forecast volumes with internal teams to deliver exceptional incremental opportunities. Assist in forecasting and replenishment analysis to support in‑stock performance and efficient inventory planning.
- Monitor and analyze category and SKU performance. Use data, information systems and metrics around financial, brand and shopper trends to maximize market share, sales and profits. Coordinate internal follow‑ups with supply chain, customer service and product management to ensure seamless execution on behalf of retail customers.
- Maintain CRM data and tracking of key account activities.
- Post‑secondary education in business, commerce, marketing or a related field.
- 5 years of experience managing national key accounts.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in large retailer systems (Retail Link, HD Supplier Hub, SPS Commerce, CTC, etc.).
- Excellent presentation, communication and time‑management skills.
- Strong strategic thinker with an eagerness to learn and solve problems.
- Effective negotiation skills and contract experience.
- Collaborative team player with an eagerness to learn and grow.
